Dr Romanelli’s F/W 2009 “The Summit Collection” …

Monday, July 20th, 2009

Continued to be inspired by the great outdoors, I just completed my F/W 2009  Summit collection consisting of reworked 1960’s-1980’s
outdoor apparel and gear .Primarily focusing on carefully selected flannels and hiking packs as the main source of inspiration, the collection ranges from reconstructed flannel backpacks to reinterpreted Cowichan Indian sweaters. The collection will be available exclusively at Barneys Japan,  with a capsule collection drop in the US to be announced in coming weeks.   Mike Posner, new up and comer music artist extraordinaire,  modeled the Summit pieces and my long time collaborator buddy Andrew Paynter photograped the collection .

This vest collection was specially created for Jeffrey NYC Fall/Winter 2009  . The pieces are made from 1980’s biker jackets.  The graphic is based on Marlon Brando’s bike club logo in The Wild One : The Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.

SURU/CELERITAS/DRx/ALPINESTARS

Thursday, July 16th, 2009

This last weekend I participated in a charity exhibition/auction at Suru benefiting Riders For Health. I worked in conjunction with Alpinestars whom provided me with technical motorcycle apparel as a canvas for our contribution to the show. Using an Alpinestars racing suit, gloves , boots and Mad Max as inspiration, I deconstructed and reinterpreted the motorcycle suit. Long time collaborator and good buddy Nathan Cabrera flipped the mannequin and helped me bring the creation to life . Big thanks to John Hensley and Joe Hahn for putting together such a great show .
